Who can participate in Beaverton Youth Cheer?

BYC accepts any athletes going into 3rd-8th grade for the 2019-2020 school year, regardless of gender, athletic background, or intended high school. We strive every year to not turn a single athlete away!

How do I register my athlete?

See our Registration tab to register and the Current News tabs for more info!

What are the costs of participation and when are those due?

Cost for this season will be dependent on the amount of athletes we have, so while we have an estimated total of $500 (with $250 of that being due at uniform fittings at the end of June), we cannot guarantee the amount until the registration period ends. More athletes means certain costs are split more, so encourage friends and classmates to give it a try!

I'm registering multiple athletes this season. Is there a sibling discount of any kind?

There is! If you're registering multiple athletes, there will be a $25 discount per athlete in your family . For example, if you register 3 of your athletes, each one's registration would be discounted $25, coming to a $75 total family discount.

I'm not sure if I can afford the full cost. What should I do?

This year we will be holding an individual fundraiser to help ease costs! More info in the Current News tab, and specifics coming at the end of June.

How do the boundary changes affect BYC?

At this point in time, they really don't. We are not turning anyone away, regardless of the high school they are attending, and we're gladly welcoming anyone who is choosing to cheer here because they will now be going to Beaverton. BYC is open to any youth athlete, regardless of address.

Where and when are practices being held this season?

Due to school district changes mentioned in the Current News tab, this is currently unknown. But details will be released as soon as we have them!

Outside of practices, what other time commitments are the athletes making?

Outside of practices, the athletes will be required to participate at games, occurring on Saturdays in the months of September and October. We are also excited to announce a partnership with Styleshock this season. Styleshock will be teaching a once-weekly tumbling class starting in August specifically for BYC athletes. Details for that will be announced at a later date. Also, athletes are required to participate in any fundraisers planned, such as a car wash. Athletes are recommended to participate in the Orange and Black Alley for 15-30 minutes at Beaverton High School Varsity home games. Athletes are provided the opportunity to participate in the BHS Cheer Clinic also. Any other time commitments will be discussed when they are arranged.
