The 2019 BYC Season starts NOW!

 

Registration for the 2019 season is open now! We are excited to get the ball rolling on the next season, but the first step is registration! Click on the registration tab, fill out all of the information for your little athletes, and click submit. Then, be looking out for an e-mail from the board about uniform fitting dates and information packets. Make sure to add BYCBoard@gmail.com to your contacts to avoid anything being sent to spam!

This season will bring a few changes for BYC, but it'll still be the same fun, challenging, team-oriented program we've striven to create for years. As always, we will start practicing in August and cheer for football season through September and October. We are also working on the 2019-2020 competition season, which extends the season through February. The big change for this season compared to those before it is the elimination of teams. Instead of having multiple age-grouped teams, we will instead be cheering as one, large, 3rd-8th grade team. The rest of the cheerleading world opens teams up to all ages and has for a long time. Our athletes who've been on the competition team know that the possibilities are endless when there are more athletes on one team for stunting, tumbling, and dance. Not to mention it allows our coaching staff to focus on all athletes equally and creates more of a family within the team. 

As for participation costs, those will be dependent on overall registration numbers, but as it stands right now, it should be around $500 this season. In seasons past it has been lower, but due to some changes within the school district and their policies on renting practice space to youth sports, we're now encountering a cost we haven't faced before. But we do understand that this is a big jump, so to combat that, we're planning on holding an individual fundraiser between uniform fittings and the start of the season. For how that will work, the plan is to start the fundraiser after uniform deposits are collected. Once the fundraising is complete, we will calculate how much your athlete raised, and remove that cost from your remaining balance. I know this sounds vague for now, but more information will be available soon. Also, to cover part of those space rental costs, we will be holding a car wash to benefit the entire team. While we won't have specific dates for a few weeks, the current plan is:

          Uniform fittings: End of June ($250 deposit due for uniform ordering)

          Informational meeting: First week of July

          Individual fundraiser: 2 weeks in July

          First Practice: First week of August (Remainder of participation costs due)
